The day started early for me. I was up at 8:30, had to go to the mall to get a few things for the trip, like snacks and sanitary items.
After that, I had to get my phone fixed because the screen was cracked, and I couldn’t travel with a broken phone.
It was around 9:30 when I finished with the errands and rushed home to shower. I left the house at 10:30. We had to leave earlier because we passed by my mom’s work to say goodbye since she couldn’t leave to drop me off at the airport. After saying my goodbyes, my dad, brother, friend, and I started off for the airport at 10:30.
We arrived at HKIA at 11:30, and the others arrived at different times with their family members who wanted to see them off.
We said our goodbyes to our family members and boarded the plane.
For the first flight, I did not sit with the rest of the group. My seat was 19C, and the rest of the group was seated in 34-38. I sat with a nice Polish couple who were traveling around Namibia in cars with tents on the roofs.
The first flight was from Windhoek to Addis Ababa, where we waited for about 2 hours before boarding our next plane to Madrid. We stopped in Rome for about an hour, then proceeded. We arrived in Madrid, Spain, at 7:15.
Overall, my experience of the journey was good. The food on the planes was decent, and it was a smooth trip with no hiccups at the checkpoints. The only thing that was a bit scary was that some of the flight crew weren’t very friendly, but we definitely landed safely, and we were just very tired.
