Sevilla’s Splendor
There’s something about waking up a little later than usual that makes the day feel extra indulgent, and today was just that. I rolled out of bed at 9:30, refreshed and ready for whatever Sevilla had to offer. After a quick shower, I joined everyone for breakfast, the slow pace of the morning letting us enjoy the calm before the adventures.
Once we finished eating, we set out to explore the beauty of the city. Sevilla truly knows how to charm you—every corner seemed to whisper its story. The architecture was breathtaking, from intricate tiles to towering spires, and I couldn’t help myself—I stopped to snap a picture of almost every building. Each one seemed more incredible than the last, and my camera roll quickly became a shrine to Sevilla’s elegance.
Our destination was a historic landmark, and as we approached, my excitement turned into a wave of stress. At the entrance, we were asked for two forms of identification. That’s when it hit me—I hadn’t brought anything with me! My mind raced with panic, imagining I’d miss out on seeing this incredible site. Thankfully, I remembered I had a picture of my identity card on my phone and access to my student portal. Crisis averted. Once inside, all my worries melted away.
The site was stunning. The gardens, with their vibrant blooms and quiet paths, felt like something out of a fairy tale. The architecture was a blend of grandeur and history, each stone and arch whispering the stories of centuries past. I loved every moment of the tour, lingering to take photos at every turn. We spent about an hour and a half exploring, and by the end, my stomach was growling louder than the chatter of tourists.
Lunch was a quick but satisfying stop at a Turkish place where I ordered kebabs and fries. The kebabs were juicy and flavorful, though the fries were a little on the dry side. Still, the meal hit the spot, and as we walked back to the Airbnb, our group chatted and laughed, enjoying the warm afternoon air.
The next activity was an optional visit to a famous stadium, but I, along with three other girls, decided to skip it. We were either too tired or had things to catch up on, so we stayed back and rested. By 6 p.m., I joined Señora for a quick grocery run to a store near our Airbnb. It was nice to move at a slower pace, picking up essentials for dinner.
When we got back, the others had returned as well, and the evening buzzed with activity. Dinner prep was underway, and the delicious aroma wafted through the space. Meanwhile, Señora, Anina, and I decided to check out a thrift store nearby. Let’s just say I couldn’t resist—I ended up buying a few treasures, and I don’t regret a single purchase!
Back at the Airbnb, I freshened up and enjoyed an incredible dinner cooked by Taina, Aurore, and Beatriz. It was the perfect way to refuel before our final adventure of the day: a flamenco show.
The performance was mesmerizing. The dancers moved with such precision and passion, their feet pounding out rhythms that seemed to echo in my chest. Flamenco is more than a dance—it’s a story told through movement, music, and raw emotion. I couldn’t take my eyes off the performers, who made the intricate steps look effortless.
By the end of the day, I felt a mix of contentment and exhaustion. Sevilla had wrapped me in its magic, and I knew I’d remember this day forever. One thing is certain: I’ll definitely be back.
