About us and our goals

We are a cultural association in the process of being officially recognized in Spain, born from the project Yo Me Voy Pa' España. Through this initiative, in November 2024, seven university students of Spanish from the University of Namibia were able to fulfill their dream of traveling across Spain for two weeks. This was made possible through fundraising efforts carried out via various activities promoting the Spanish language and Hispanic culture in Africa.

"The last few months with the “Yo me voy pa’ España” project have been very rewarding. I have met and formed relationships with wonderful people and learnt more about the Spanish culture along the way. I have been challenged and encouraged to try new things and for this I will always be grateful.
I enjoy the regular feedback sessions after each event and have found myself looking forward to seeing my fellow project-mates."

"I am so thankful for everyone I was able to cross paths with through this journey and for me that is the biggest takeaway. Being able to see people come together and work alongside each other for a common goal regardless of how early it is or how long is beautiful to witness and be a part of.
If there’s one thing being a part of this project has taught me, is that if you dream it and you dare to even try to achieve it, you can absolutely do it."

"This project has not only given me a chance to see and experience Spain, but also provided me with necessary skills I will be able to use after I complete my academic journey. I’ve made connections with new people, had the opportunity to sing in front of hundreds of people, and I’ve now gotten to learn and see how to lead a team, and how I can initiate my own future projects.
This experience has been a great opportunity to learn from others and I’m grateful to be part of it."

"We have had the opportunity to run a stall selling sandwiches at the "Green Market" on many weekends, which I enjoyed as the preparation time was filled with many interesting conversations in which many different opinions were expressed. This allowed me to get to know alot about the project members.
I have enjoyed the project so far and I am grateful that the coordinators of this project are the ones facilitating it as they are very passionate about it and I am very happy to have worked with everyone."

"The journey with the Yo Me Voy Pa' España group has been nothing short of extraordinary. I would describe us as an optimistic and persistent group that faces challenges head-on. We may stumble and fall, but we never lose hope. This beautiful project, initiated by students and supported by our teachers, has been a challenging yet incredibly rewarding journey. What once seemed difficult now feels within reach."
